Israel Railways first purchased

Push-Pull trains in 1996-7. The Control cars allow remote operation of the locomotive at the other end of the train. This saves the need for the locomotive to run around its train after each trip. Control cars have diesel generators installed, to supply electricity for air-conditioning and lighting.
